Remedy Entertainment has been producing highly ambitious projects such as the aforementioned Alan Wake and Quantum Break and yet their number of developments continue to rise. Despite the rate of their releases, however, the hope is that this new project will meet or exceed the quality present in the developer’s past projects.
The news of the upcoming project was reported within the company’s latest financial statement, which also indicated that Project P7 would be published by 505 Games. This revelation comes as no surprise following the announcement that 505 Games had paid 7.75 million euros for the rights to publish Remedy’s next game.
Also within the report was a statement that reveals the project has transitioned “from the pre-production phase to the production phase.” Thus far development is going ‘according to [the company’s] plans’ and hence the game is likely to be released without any major delays.
Alongside the production of Project P7 is the development Cross Fire 2 for Smilegate Entertainment Ltd. Cross Fire 2 is stated within the report as including one of the most extensive campaigns that is currently under development. This may indicate that the Project P7 could be focusing more upon multiplayer gameplay, however this is yet to be confirmed.
Despite the divided attention of the developer, Project P7 could be another impressive game added to the Remedy Entertainment’s collection. Ultimately, the originality of the haunting adventures in Alan Wake and the cinematic action displayed in Quantum Break have the potential to combine into something unique, assuming Remedy is following a similar path.
Project P7 is estimated to be released in the year 2019 on Play Station 4 and Xbox One.
