The sequel to 2018’s Remothered: Tormented Fathers will be released on August 25 for all current generation platforms and promises to raise the creep factor of the original game in almost every way. Remothered: Broken Porcelain will introduce additional gameplay and storytelling elements to increase player immersion, features real-time cinematic sequences for the first time in the series, and marks the return of Luca Balboni, who composed the first game’s haunting soundtrack.

Although the series is intended to be a trilogy, Stormind has clarified that it will not be necessary to have played Tormented Fathers to enjoy and understand what’s going on in the sequel. However, additional lore will be available for veterans of the series eager to learn more about the events and characters introduced in the first game.
In Broken Porcelain, players follow the harrowing story of Jen, who was expelled from boarding school and sent to work as a maid at the mysterious Ashmann Inn. But Jen’s new workplace is neither cozy nor welcoming and hides a number of secrets that its inhabitants want to keep hidden. Stalkers, unfriendly guardians trapped in time, were introduced in previously released Remothered: Broken Porcelain trailers. But this latest peek at the game reveals that a host of other denizens, some less supernatural, also seem intent on keeping Jen’s curiosity in check.
As in the previous Remothered game, players will make use of a variety of objects found in the environment to open new areas for exploration and combat the hostile occupants of the inn. Players will use stealth, strategic hiding spots, and distractions to evade enemies while solving challenging puzzles to uncover the terrifying history of the Ashmann Inn.
Rosemary, the protagonist of Tormented Fathers who was searching for a lost girl named Celeste, makes a return in Broken Porcelain, although her exact role in the game is yet to be revealed. Additionally, a whole new cast of characters inspired by classic horror tropes makes an appearance, populating the gloomy and dark world of the decrepit Ashmann Inn and breathing life into the environment.
Remothered: Broken Porcelain will be released on August 25, 2020, for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
