Hoke has 12 years of head coaching experience at Ball State, San Diego State and, most notably, Michigan. His overall record is 78-70, though he compiled only a 30-21 record in four years in Ann Arbor.
In Hoke’s first season at Michigan, the Wolverines capped off an 11-2 season with a Sugar Bowl victory. The Wolverines slid every year after, however, resulting in his termination after a 5-7 season in 2014.
ECU fired former coach Ruffin McNeill on Dec. 4 after the six-year head coach had compiled a 5-7 record in 2015 and a 42-34 record overall.
