Dragic’s representatives told the Suns in a Tuesday meeting that he has no plans to re-sign with the team once he becomes a free agent in the summer, according to USA Today sources.

Dragic’s message comes just two days before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.

The point guard has seen his role decrease dramatically during the 2014-15 season since the Suns acquired point guard Isaiah Thomas last summer.

During the 2013-14 season, Dragic posted averages of 20.3 points, 5.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds in 35.1 minutes per game. He will most likely want to join a team where he won’t have to share the job as much.

Dragic’s lack of playing time has coincided with a mid-season slump for the Suns; they have lost seven of their last 10 games.

The struggling Lakers and Knicks are among the teams in play for Dragic, a list rumored to be at least seven teams long.

According to one of USA Today’s sources, Dragic wants to be on a team that gives him more freedom, much like how Stephen Curry operates with the Warriors.
