The report, citing unnamed sources, said Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria is unhappy and might prefer a more intense manager after Giancarlo Stanton’s recent suggestion the team lacked fire.
The New York Daily News said Backman hasn’t been contacted by anyone from the Marlins as of Monday morning.
