Oakland, perhaps the most attractive NFL option for the former Wolverine quarterback, remains hopeful it can land Harbaugh, FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reported Sunday morning.

Other than obvious, geographic advantages, Oakland has been deemed a perfect landing place for Harbaugh if he wants to stay at the professional level. With general manager Reggie McKenzie’s future in doubt, Harbaugh could come in with a duel role as coach and GM, a situation for which he has no chance in San Francisco.
Multiple reports in recent days, however, indicate Harbaugh’s return to Ann Arbor is a foregone conclusion, and he’ll head east soon after the 49ers’ season finale against the Cardinals on Sunday.
The Raiders fired coach Dennis Allen after an 0-4 start this season. They’ll have the option to let interim Tony Sparano return or find a new skipper if Harbaugh indeed goes back to college coaching.
Update: As of Monday afternoon, the Raiders and even a few other teams had not given up hope.
