According to Fox Sports’ Bill Reiter, center DeAndre Jordan and point guard Chris Paul had a falling out during the season. That could pose a problem, because Jordan — who averaged 11.5 points, 15 rebounds and more than two blocks per game — is an unrestricted free agent this offseason and a major piece of the Clippers’ puzzle.

From Reiter:

While those comments are far from a ringing endorsement for Jordan’s return to the Clippers, two factors could trump issues with Paul:

First, because of Jordan’s Bird Rights, Los Angeles can offer him the most money on a maximum contract, something Jordan will almost certainly seek in his next deal.

Second, Jordan has a strong relationship with Clippers coach Doc Rivers, and Rivers has made it clear he wants Jordan to stay.

Of course, there will be plenty of other suitors for Jordan this summer, but the adage about the grass not always being greener could apply here.
