Officers needed to use bean bag rounds to subdue Wheeler, who had allegedly injured his hands punching walls and windows prior to their arrival.

Wheeler was not hurt in the scuffle — neither were police — but was transported to a local hospital where he is being held for psychiatric evaluation, NBC reported.
Wheeler’s girlfriend was also detained and released. The two have a 7-month-old child together. The baby has since been given to a family member.
The Trojans will play Wisconsin in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 30.
